"The Art of Healing" - Series of 7 episodes on Anthroposophical Medicine

"The Art of Healing" is a series of short shows (7 episodes) created by the Medical Section of Anthroposophic Medicine at the Goetheanum, Switzerland.
In these 7 episodes we can see the origins and history of Anthroposophic Medicine, its current application in clinics and outpatient clinics, the production of Anthroposophic medicines, an in-depth presentation of mistletoe therapy (in oncology), an illustration of nursing and somatic treatments and topics concerning education and research. The result is a comprehensive picture of a modern and sustainable approach to medicine in the 21st century.
For 100 years, Anthroposophic Medicine has successfully integrated conventional and complementary therapies at the research, clinical and practical levels. It is applied in all medical disciplines, practiced worldwide and has been verified by independent studies. It is a proven effective healing art, which understands and treats each individual as a unique physical, mental and spiritual being. Just as many people have come to believe, medical science should be.
A few words about each episode:
1: 100 Years of Anthroposophic Medicine in Arlesheim: Dr. Ita Wegman founded the first clinic for Anthroposophic Medicine in Arlesheim (near Basel, Switzerland) in 1921. Today, oncologist Dr. med. Marion Debus works there and is engaged in realizing a holistic, integrated approach to medicine with a team of therapists.
2. In the pediatric intensive care unit, high-tech medicine is complemented by additional therapeutic methods such as music therapy and rhythmic massage. The use of conventional medicines is therefore reduced!
3: Anthroposophic medicine for all: The social mandate of Anthroposophic Medicine includes outpatient medical care delivered through integrated medical practices. The Integrative House of Health in Heidenheim (Germany) is exemplary, also because of its connection to a local clinic.
4: Art and movement therapies: a holistic approach to medicine includes ways of enhancing the creative forces in the human soul and spirit. Approaches such as art therapy, music therapy and therapeutic rhythm support a sustainable healing.
5: From nature to man: In this episode we learn the philosophy and how the raw materials used in Anthroposophic Medicine are grown, harvested and processed to make medicines. Raw materials can be obtained from all the "realm" of nature. Nature meets science in the processing of medicinal plants such as St. John's wort or gentian. Ecology always plays a central role.
6: Integrative oncology: Mistletoe therapy is one of the most commonly used complementary therapies for cancer patients. 100 years after Rudolf Steiner first proposed the use of mistletoe, clinical research has confirmed its effectiveness and repeatedly discovered new therapeutic possibilities for mistletoe.
7: Training and research in anthroposophical medicine: The Integrated Course of Studies in Anthroposophic Medicine (ICURAM) at Witten/Herdecke University, with its training wing at Herdecke Community Hospital, enables doctors to learn a holistic approach to medicine. The example of clinical research in Herdecke and Havelhöhe shows how Anthroposophical Medicine contributes in an independent way to personalised medicine.
